Hand-Painted Blue-and-White Double-Dragon-Pattern Steamer
TW-7-00-22-0-B-0234
The production date of this steamer is unknown, but it is believed to be a product of the Beitou ceramics industry. The material is pottery, with a white glaze applied to the base color. The body of the steamer is hand-painted with a blue and white double dragon pattern, and there is a relief sculpture of a lion head on the side, highlighted with blue paint. The steamer is a specialized cooking tool for steaming food, with a flat and round shape and two ear-shaped handles for easy handling. Steam is produced through a funnel-shaped structure inside the pot, allowing water vapor to overflow through the vent and cook the food while retaining its freshness. It is often used in Yunnan cuisine, and the Kinmen Ceramic Factory also produces Kinmen steamers.
